SAPC - Pharmaciae - Student - pre-registration examination opportunities

In the interest of efficiency, Council increases pre-registration examination opportunities

The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) has resolved that from 2018 the pre-registration examinations be conducted quarterly, i.e. March, June, September and November. This resolution effectively increases the number of opportunities available to pharmacist interns for writing the pre-registration examinations within the pre-registration year.

The examination dates for 2018 will be available in the 2018 Intern and Tutor Manual for the Pre-registration Experience of Pharmacist Interns which will be available on the SAPC website at the beginning of January 2018.

The increased frequency of the examinations will not only provide pharmacist interns with more opportunities to write examinations, but also presents an opportunity for the even distribution of interns between examination dates which may result in improved efficiency in the administration of the examinations by the SAPC.

It is important to note that, despite this increase in examination opportunities, only interns who have completed six (6) months of their internships, submitted four CPDs and one progress report will be admitted to the examination.
