Performance highlights

2023 Elections

The SAPC hosted the elections for the 2024 – 2028 Council term of office online for the first time. The successful transition from the paper-based election procedures to the online procedure resulted in a large increase in the number of votes cast. A total of 161 valid nominations were received. A breakdown of the demographics of nominators, seconders, nominees and voters is provided in the 2023 Annual Report.

Pre-registration Examinations

As part of the pre-registration requirements, Pharmacist Interns are required to pass the pre-registration examination. In 2023, Council implemented an online proctoring system to assist in the monitoring and invigilation of these exams.

A total of 1 038 Pharmacist Interns wrote one of the three pre-registration examinations in 2023 and achieved a 90,50% pass rate overall.
