APPOINTMENTS, RETIREMENTS, PROMOTIONS AND RESIGNATIONS
The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is happy to present to the profession nine (9) newly appointed and promoted employees, who have undergone rigorous selection processes. They bring with them a diversity of skills, experience and capabilities to help the SAPC fulfil its legislative mandate. In this period, we are also bidding farewell to three (3) colleagues, one of who is retiring while two opted to pursue other paths.
APPOINTMENTS
Sandiso Ntsomi, CA(SA)
Chief Financial Officer (COO)
Sandiso Ntsomi, CA(SA), joined the South African Pharmacy in January 2022 as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He is a seasoned Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) and has occupied various leadership roles in finance, financial reporting and auditing.
He is also a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)-recognised Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant™ (CGMA®).
He also holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours) – CTA, Bachelor of Accounting Science, and has completed the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Leadership Excellence Acceleration Programme, amongst others.
Kebotile Moroasui
Health and Safety Practitioner
Ms Kebotile Moroasui joined the South African Pharmacy Council as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer effective April 2022. She is responsible for assessing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety prescripts and good practice within the properties of Council.
Kebotile holds a National Diploma in Safety Management from the Vaal University of Technology and has completed the Chamber of Mines (SA) Safety Officer Certificate (COMSOC) Level 1 and COMSOC Level 2.
She has held various Occupational Health and Safety positions at Stenda Trading Exxaro and Lafarge Holcim prior to joining Council.
She believes the key to professional success is to “Never stop learning and asking questions. Believe in yourself, invest in yourself as much as you can, then wear confidence and good character around your neck”, she lives by the motto “Never doubt the season that God has you in, always obey to seasonal shifts”.
RETIREMENTS
Betty Thubane
Logistic Clerk
Ms Betty Thubane, one of Council’s longest-serving employees, retired from the Office of the Registrar in June 2022. She served Council and the profession for 33 years with the utmost diligence, professionalism and reliability. Ms Thubane occupied the position of Logistics Clerk in the Communication and Stakeholder Relations (CSR) Department, having risen from her initial role of Tea Lady, which she occupied since 1989.

PROMOTIONS
Nokuthula Msimango
Communication and Media Officer (Content Development and Language Support)
Ms Nokuthula Msimango joined the South African Pharmacy Council in May 2021 as a Communication and Media Intern (Content Development). She was promoted to Communication and Media Officer (Content Development and Language Support) in July 2022. Her responsibilities include copyediting, developing and reviewing language and writing guides, content development, layout and design of publications, reputation management, social media management and community engagement as well as the drafting of unit performance reports, amongst others.
Nokuthula held the position of Contact Centre Agent from April 2022 until her promotion. Nokuthula holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Journalism (Cum Laude) both from the University of Johannesburg.
She states that the key to professional success is to “remain diligent and always stick to your word so that your colleagues trust you”.
Lebogang Taunyane
Personal Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer
Ms Lebogang Taunyane joined the South African Pharmacy Council in March 2009 as a Customer Care Officer. Subsequently, she occupied the positions of Professional Affairs Officer and Travel Logistics Coordinator, prior to her promotion to Personal Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer effective April 2022.
Prior to joining Council, Lebogang was employed by the National Department of Health. She holds a Higher Certificate in Public Relations from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Diploma in Office Administration from Damelin.
She is a leaper (person born on the 29th of February) who is a passionate and committed professional. Lebogang supports and offers her time to help and give back to the community, especially orphanages. She often motivates those closest to her with the words, “No two days are the same, enjoy each day as it is”.
Tieho Thekoane
Communication and Media Officer (Public and Media Relations)
Tieho Thekoane joined the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) in August 2021 in the capacity of a Communication and Media Intern (Communication Support). He was promoted to Communication and Media Officer (Public and Media Relations) effective August 2022. Amongst others, Tieho is responsible for providing social media account management services, stakeholder support through social media, crisis communication, and assisting with the management of the SAPC’s reputation. He provides media relations support, undertakes media monitoring and analysis, and writes and proofreads communication material.
Tieho holds a National Diploma: Marketing from the University of Johannesburg and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing Communication from the AAA School of Advertising. He believes that failure is part of the process of growth and that we should always rise from every fall with the determination to succeed.
Neo Ramokoka
Practitioner: Communication and Media (Public and Media Relations)
Ms Omphemetse Neo Magdeline Ramokoka was promoted to Practitioner: Communication and Media (Public and Media Relations) effective July 2022. She joined the South African Pharmacy Council in the capacity of Contact Centre Agent in March 2016, following which she was promoted to Communication and Media Officer in March 2019. In her current role, Neo is responsible for communication performance measurement, ensuring robust reputation management for Council, Corporate Social Investment, social media account management, events coordination and providing audio-visual media production services, amongst others.
Neo holds a National Diploma: Public Relations from Tshwane North College, a National Diploma: Public Relations Management from the University of South Africa, and a Bachelor of Technology: Public Relations Management from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). She is currently pursuing a Master of Strategic Communication with TUT. Neo says her fondest career memory is when she introduced podcasting to the South Africa Pharmacy Council during the rollout of the Continuing Professional Development communication programme.
Dineo Rampyapedi
Contact Centre Agent
Ms Dineo Rampyapedi joined the South African Pharmacy Council in April 2021 in the capacity of Communication and Media Intern (Communication Support). She was appointed as Contact Centre Agent with effect from August 2022.
She is responsible for providing client support to Council’s stakeholders and registered persons and ensuring the utmost levels of customer care.
Dineo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and an Intel Computer Certificate, both from the University of Limpopo.
Thembelihle Malahlela
Secretarial Support Officer: Office of the Chief Operating Officer
Thembelihle Malahlela joined the SAPC in March 2019 as a Contact Centre Agent. With effect from November 2022, Thembelihle was promoted to Secretarial Support Officer in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, Thembelihle is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the Chief Operating Officer. Before joining the SAPC, Thembelihle worked as a Client Service Consultant at Universal Healthcare.
RESIGNATIONS
Puseletso Mogano
Manager: Professional Affairs
Ms Puseletso Mogano exited the employ of the South African Pharmacy Council in September 2022. Puseletso was a Manager: Professional Affairs (Pharmacy Practice), a position that she held and diligently fulfilled for four years. We thank Ms Mogano for the excellent service rendered to the profession and the country at large.
We wish her the greatest success in her journey.
Precious Thembisile Shabangu
Manager: Professional Affairs
Ms Precious Thembisile Shabangu was Manager: Professional Affairs (Pharmacy Practice) until June 2022. Precious joined the Office of the Registrar in March 2020, and was responsible for managing processes relating to the establishment, development, maintenance and control of universally acceptable standards of pharmacy practice. Precious served the South African Pharmacy Council, the profession and the public with dedication, we wish her the very best in her journey.
